RescueFit is a vendor-independent equipment safety inspection service for fire departments, municipal facilities, and small fitness spaces. We document what’s there, flag what needs attention, and leave you a clear record — without telling you how to run your gym.
Most departments have a fitness room. Very few have a consistent way to document equipment condition or safety checks — the way they already do for ladders, SCBA, and PPE.
Firehouse equipment is heavily used, often donated, mixed-brand, and aging. Small issues — loose hardware, worn cables, an unstable bench — go unnoticed until they become a preventable injury, a workers’ comp claim, and a staffing gap.

RescueFit was founded by Evan Giesing, a career firefighter and company officer, together with a co-founder who is a retired career firefighter. We bring a practical, safety-focused perspective to the spaces where first responders train — grounded in real on-duty use, not a commercial-gym sales model.
The idea for RescueFit came after watching a fellow firefighter sustain a serious, life-altering injury when a failing incline bench abruptly collapsed from a hardware separation. It exposed a gap many organizations share: fitness spaces full of well-intentioned equipment, but no consistent, safety-focused oversight. RescueFit exists to help close that gap — not through fault-finding or enforcement, but through practical, observational reviews that support safer training and informed decisions.
